Banning pit bulls would be like banning guns. The good people will be angry and crying because they've given up the dogs they loved. The criminals who've done most of the harm in the first place won't mind having to be a bit more secretive.

Besides, all sorts of dogs outside of pitbulls are harmed as well. From breed such as catahoula, Vizsla, Jack Rustle Terrier and labrador retriever and the twenty three other often mistaken under the genre of pitbull, to the dogs who are also placed under ban.
Akita, Chow Chow, Doberman, Great Dane, Irish Wolfhound, Tosa Inu, Huskies, Mastiffs just to name a few.
